Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the last poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best players in the world. While betting on web poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen generally buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I think tv can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be found playing net poker on Full Tilt. He normally participates in big stakes omaha hold’em and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in cash rounds?
