No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer lived in a family of five in which he loved betting on different card games when he was young. He found himself becoming very competitive in these particular card games while playing his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to put higher education on hold for a bit and headed to New York to participate in some formidable chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were tough as he would play countless hours and lost most times. He earned some additional cash by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he could better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He made an effort to acquire more rest and focus attention more on poker.

The definite advancement in his skills began when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest gamblers would regularly challenge each other. He was able to access some of the foremost players in chess. With their assistance, Howard Lederer would hone his strategic thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategic concepts to the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.

Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie Duke was an excellent student of poker as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper decision. Howard Lederer told Annie to move out to Las Vegas and compete in the World Series of Poker tournaments. She is one of the best women players the poker arena today. Howard Lederer relocated to Vegas in 1993 and played money games for the following decade. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, he decided to compete in more tournaments.
