Internet poker has become world famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many types on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier saying "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players attain 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s first card, you need to either make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your beginning wager, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantaneously to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, with an amount equal to the original wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays out cash even with your ante and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
