Horrible Fortune in Poker

For a match where most participants occasionally consider fortune, there are tonnes of superstitions in poker. When you say that someone was lucky in that poker tournament they won, be careful of how you mention it. For instance, if you say that you were unfortunate, your luck may not change.

Ok, that might sound a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game armed with superstitions. Did you realize that if you are wagering a game with 2 seperate decks and you’re asked to select the deck, you should always choose the deck of cards that is furthest from you? Or, what If you have a streak of bad cards, you need to sit on a hankerchief to break your bad luck? It’s actually thought of as good luck to blow through a deck of cards while they’re being shuffled.

A few other fascinating poker superstitions are:

  • You can alter the run of cards by passing around your chair three times.
  • The luckiest spot at the poker table looks at the entry.
  • The worst chair has its back to a fireplace.
  • When shifting chairs, you need to always do so clockwise.
  • The worst poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It is most unlucky to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Friday is a poor day for betting on cards.
  • The 13th is also a bad day, despite when it falls during the week.
